Thomas W. Brown
President and Director of Real Estate Acquisitions
Thomas W. Brown is the President, Director of Real Estate Acquisitions for Brookwood where he is also a member of Brookwood’s Executive and Investment Committees.
Mr. Brown’s primary responsibility is to oversee potential commercial real estate investments and acquisition due diligence, approve all property and portfolio financing, and manage all property dispositions. Mr. Brown also serves as Yesway’s Chief Real Estate Officer where he is responsible for all real estate activities of Yesway, including the construction of new-to-industry- stores and raze and rebuilds, existing store remodels, fuel expansions and upgrades to store fixtures and equipment, as well as overseeing Yesway’s build-to-suit program.
Prior to joining Brookwood in 1994, Mr. Brown was a Vice President of Winthrop Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Winthrop Financial Associates. As Director of National Real Estate Operations, Mr. Brown was responsible for the management of 30 million square feet of office, industrial, and retail properties representing over $3 billion of real estate. Mr. Brown previously served as President of a publicly held national real estate firm where he was responsible for the real estate operations of 250 office buildings and shopping centers throughout the United States. Mr. Brown currently serves on the board of directors of Yesway, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. In 2018, Mr. Brown completed the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
